Eligibility is the first thing to check before entering. A competition can have a perfect prize and a simple entry form but still be irrelevant if the rules do not include your location or circumstances.

Check residence wording
Look for the exact territory. “UK” normally includes Northern Ireland, while “Great Britain” refers to England, Scotland and Wales. The Republic of Ireland is separate. Some promotions list individual regions or exclude particular areas.

Confirm the minimum age
Many promotions require entrants to be 18 or over, but this is not universal. Travel, alcohol-related or financial prizes can have additional age conditions.

Read household restrictions
A rule can apply per person, per email address or per household. If more than one person at your address wants to enter, check which limit applies.

Look for employment exclusions
Promoters commonly exclude employees, agencies and people professionally connected with the promotion. Family-member exclusions can also appear.

Check customer or purchase requirements
Some promotions require a qualifying purchase, loyalty account, subscription or other relationship. Others offer a free alternative route. Follow the exact terms rather than assuming.

If anything is unclear, contact the promoter through its official channel before entering. Fearless eligibility labels are a discovery aid, not a substitute for the current terms.
