How brands use competitions to launch new products
Why product launches and promotional campaigns so often include giveaways and prize draws.

Competitions are frequently used alongside product launches because they can introduce a new item, encourage trial and create a reason for people to engage with a campaign. Understanding that purpose can also help entrants recognise the information a promoter may ask for.
Awareness is often the first goal
A giveaway can put a new product in front of people who might not otherwise notice it. Social sharing, email sign-ups or visits to a campaign page can all support that objective.
Some promotions encourage trial
Purchase-linked competitions may reward customers who buy a qualifying product. Others give away the new product itself. Always check whether purchase is genuinely required or whether an alternative entry route exists.
Data use should be explained
Entry details and marketing consent are not the same thing. Read the privacy information and look for optional marketing choices rather than assuming every checkbox is required to enter.
The prize should still stand on its own
A marketing objective does not make a promotion illegitimate, but entrants should still be able to understand the prize, rules, promoter and closing date.

A listing helps you find a promotion. It does not mean Fearless endorses the product or brand behind it.
