Online forms, postal routes and alternative methods can all be described as free entry, but the details matter.

“Free entry” is a useful label, but it can describe several different mechanics. A promotion might have a completely free online form, a postal alternative to a paid route or an entry method that has no promoter fee but still involves ordinary network or postage costs.
Read the actual route
Do not stop at the label. Check what information is required, where the entry must be sent and whether a particular format applies.
Ordinary costs can still exist
A postal entry may require a stamp. A text route can use a standard network charge. Those costs are different from a promoter charging an entry fee, but they still matter to the entrant.
Deadlines can differ
An alternative entry route can have specific receipt or processing deadlines. Leaving it until the last moment may mean the entry arrives too late.
One route may not suit everyone
Choose the method that is valid and practical for you. Do not assume a free alternative is automatically easier than the main route.
Fearless uses structured labels
Where we record a free or alternative route, it is intended to help discovery. Always confirm the current method in the official terms before entering.
