How daily, weekly and monthly entry limits differ
A clear guide to repeat-entry wording and the difference between calendar periods and rolling time limits.
Repeat-entry competitions can use daily, weekly, monthly or fixed total limits. The label alone is not always enough to know when you can enter again, so read the exact wording in the terms.
Calendar-day limits
“One entry per day” often means one valid entry during each calendar day of the promotion. The rules may define the relevant time zone.
Rolling 24-hour limits
“One entry every 24 hours” is different. If you enter at 8pm today, the next valid time may be after 8pm tomorrow rather than after midnight.
Weekly and monthly limits
A promoter may use calendar weeks/months or a rolling period. Check whether the terms define the reset point.
Total caps
Some competitions allow repeat entry but set a maximum number across the entire campaign. Reaching that cap means additional attempts may not be valid.
Limits can apply across routes
Using a website and a postal route does not necessarily give separate allowances. The terms can combine all methods under one person or household limit.
A personal tracker can help you organise repeat entries, but it cannot decide validity. Follow the promoter's wording whenever it differs from your routine.
