What makes a trustworthy competition directory?

The difference between simply collecting links and maintaining useful, transparent competition information.

A competition directory is most useful when it does more than collect promotional links. Entrants need enough structured information to decide whether a listing is relevant and a clear route back to the official source.

The promoter should be identifiable
A listing should make it possible to understand who is running the promotion. Brand names can be familiar, but the terms may identify a different legal promoter or campaign partner.

Important facts should be structured
Prize, closing date, eligibility, entry route and purchase requirements are more useful when they can be searched and filtered rather than buried in copied promotional text.

Verification should be transparent
A “checked” label should indicate what was reviewed and when, not imply a guarantee that nothing can change afterwards.

Corrections should be possible
Promotions change and mistakes happen. A useful directory needs a clear way for visitors or promoters to report outdated information.

Independence should be clear
Advertising, sponsorship or affiliate relationships should not be confused with editorial verification. Fearless separates discovery and organisation from the promoter's own rules and claims.
